Make Mother's Day Special for Moms of Maristella
In honor of Mother’s Day, we are partnering with Someone’s in the Kitchen to collect gift bag items for the mothers of Maristella, a non-profit that helps homeless women seek shelter in Lake County.
We will be collecting new toiletries, such as small soaps, shampoos, and lotions; items offered at hotels but often not used. We will be packing these items in goodie bags and giving them to these special women for Mother’s Day. We also welcome gently used pots and pans as donations.
“Imagine what it would be like to move into a new apartment after being homeless, what would you cook or shower with?” said Bonnie Bock, owner of Someone’s in the Kitchen.
Someone’s in the Kitchen will be offering a 10 percent discount on all retail merchandise to anyone who donates. The special discount is only offered on April 30 and May 1.

Saturday, April 30, 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday, May 1, 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Thanks to the United Airlines stewardess for donating three boxes of items today! I'm very excited that we are already getting items on the first day of the charity drive!
