When we announced last week that a Trader Joe's will be coming to Libertyville, readers reacted in a huge—and mostly positive—way.

We received dozens of comments on the story itself, and on the Grayslake and Libertyville Patch Facebook pages. The story also got 972 Facebook recommends.

"We need fireworks!!!!!" wrote one reader in the comment section of the original story.

Another wrote on the Libertyville Patch Facebook page, "Finally!!!! This rumor has been going around town for quite some time now … Glad it is finally being put to rest. So excited!"

Grayslake Patch readers also expressed excitement.

"I hate driving all the way to Lake Zurich all the time … so this (is) a huge deal!!" a reader said on the Grayslake Patch Facebook page.

Another reader wrote: "Directly across from Mariano's...I'm in food and Wine heaven. Usually only get the change when I visit my parents in Park Ridge or visit friends in Glenview."

Other Grayslake readers lamented that the store isn't being built in Grayslake.

Some readers on the original story expressed concern about the nearby Jewel-Osco store.

"I feel bad for the Libertyville Jewel. I am afraid that will be the final nail in their coffin," one reader wrote.

Another countered, "I personally don't think that Trader Joe's will hurt the Jewel that much. It is basically a different genre of food......we need more organic variety available."

Another reader wondered what all of the fuss was about.

"Trader Joes is okay, but I'm not jumping up and down on my couch over it. It is about 1/4 the size of Jewel and Marianos, so while it is a nice addition to the grocery stores in the area, I really can't see it as replacing them. Glad that Libertyville will get the tax revenue. We need it," the reader wrote.
