Hey Libertyville! Where were You for the Feb. 2011 Blizzard?
Two years ago Feb. 1, Chicagoland was hit with more than 20 inches of snow in some areas, a far cry from what we have today, though snow is in the forecast for this weekend.
At this time two years ago, things looked a lot whiter outside as the Blizzard of 2011 dumped upwards of 20 inches of snow over the Chicago region.
The Village of Libertyville spent $168,000 to clean it up, reported Patch.
The snow storm caused widespread power outages, school and business closings, stranded drivers and caused a big old mess, reported the Chicago Tribune, which offers a photo gallery of the white-out of 2011.
The National Weather Service is forecasting snow this weekend, with a chance for accumulation of one to three inches. Not quite 20, though!
