Independence Grove will kick off its free summer concert series on June 21. The outdoor concerts presented by Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital will take place at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Millennia Plaza Outdoor Amphitheater, 16400 W. Buckley Road. If it rains, the concerts will be rescheduled for Thursday of the same week.
- June 21 Mr. Myers will perform Caribbean rock
- June 28 Chi-Town Showstoppers, an 11-piece ensemble that performs rhythm and blues, funk and jazz
- July 5 Grand Avenue Big Band offers big-band style music from the 1930s and ’40s
- July 12 White Saddle Band will perform country music fused with rock and blues
- July 19 Bagshot Row will play songs from the Beatles, Rolling Stones and more
- July 26 Jose Valdes and the Mambo All Stars will perform Latin dance tunes
- Aug. 2 The Rhythm Rockets, a saxphone-driven band, will perform songs from the ’40s and ’50s
- Aug. 9 The Rockin’ Fenderskirts will play hits from the ’50s and ’60s featuring Buddy Holly and more

Though the concerts are free, Horizons (the Lake County Forest Preserve magazine), stated that this year parking at IG will be $5 on the night of the performances.

I think parking is free till 1700. Then the $ kick in.
