It’s time for this week's Chowdown Showdown! This reader-driven restaurant review on Grayslake Patch, Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Patch and Libertyville Patch gives you the chance to vote on great local delicacies.

This week, we are on the hunt for the best place to get chicken wings in northern Lake County.

It’s simple to vote for your favorite spot: All you need to do is sign into our site and then comment below with your vote. Feel free to elaborate on why this restaurant’s wings are so fantastic.

First Round

Vote early, and often. You have until 5 p.m. Tuesday to tell us your favorite. Casting your vote is easy.

Finalists

On Wednesday morning, we will post the top three finalists — as determined by your votes — in a poll. And it will be time to vote again: this time to crown the weekly Chowdown Showdown champion.

Champion

Voting will continue through 5 p.m. Friday. We will post the Showdown winner first thing Saturday morning. Remember, it all depends upon your votes.

So tell us, where can you get the BEST wings in northern Lake County?

Gotta second Gators Wing Shack in Waukegan on RT 120. They fry up a perfectly cooked (and I have to say - temperature wise, a VERY hot wing). Located on the south side of 120 and about 3 miles west of RT-41, this eclectic wing stop is a must hit.

Do try the honey garlic wings - but be mindful that hot honey burns like crazy!! :)

Brad - Not to nitpick, but I believe you mean 3 miles east of Rt. 41. Haven't been there, but your review and the location lead me to believe it's worth the trip.

Whowa! I've been nipping at the bottle a tad too much this week. Yes, it is 3 miles EAST of RT 41.

Franks for the Memories....hands down. My wife, who does not eat wings because she does not like to get messy makes the exception for these. We are going back this Friday. The BBQ are my favorite. (slathered and smokey)
