Libertyville Police Blotter: Buffalo Grove Woman Charged with DUI

This week’s police blotter includes arrests of unlicensed and uninsured motorists.

 

Libertyville police released the following reports for the week of Nov. 4:

A 40-year-old Buffalo Grove woman faces driving under the influence of alcohol charges following a Nov. 10 traffic stop, police said.

Kristine Shlain, 431 Le Parc Circle, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level over .08, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle, according to police.

Shlain was spotted at 5 p.m. on Milwaukee Avenue near Broadway Street after police received complaints of someone driving erratically, reports stated.

She failed field sobriety tests and a portable breath test showed an alcohol level above .08, police said. Shlain She was taken into custody and processed but later released after posting her driver’s license and signing a $1,000 personal recognizance bond, police said.

In other reports:

  • Arturo Vazquez Castaneda, 35, of 1415 Churchill Court, Mundelein, was stopped by police on Rockland Road, just west of Wrightwood Terrace, Nov. 4, for a traffic violation, police said. Vazquez was spotted driving with flashing red lights, instead of the proper white or amber turn signal lights, and for not stopping at a stop sign, reports stated. He was arrested after a records check showed he did not have a valid driver’s license, police said.
  • Luis Melchor, 19, 1318 Ridgeway, Round Lake Beach, was stopped for only having one functioning headlight at 6 a.m. on Winchester Road near Butler Lake on Nov. 6, police said.  A records check revealed that Melchor did not have a valid driver’s license and he was arrested on that charge and for having a non-functioning headlight, police said.
  • Michael S. Conway, 31, 3653 North Newcastle Ave., Chicago, was stopped at 7:10 p.m. Nov. 8 on Milwaukee Avenue near Johnson Avenue after police observed a rear tire wobbling and angled in, causing it to be unsafe, police said. Conway was arrested for driving with a revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle and received an unsafe equipment violation, police said.
  • Roberto Acevedo, 19, was stopped at 12:25 a.m. on Nov. 12 in the 700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue when police observed that his vehicle did not have taillights or a rear registration light, police said. He was later arrested on charges of driving without a valid driver’s license, non-functioning taillights and registration light, reports stated.
