Libertyville's Fireworks to Go on as Planned

The village issued a statement today to notify residents that despite the drought conditions, the fireworks show will still take place on July 4.

Though a number of local communities have canceled their July 4 fireworks due to the dry conditions, Libertyville's are set to go on as planned.

The village issued an update today, July 3, confirming that "after a thorough assessment by the Libertyville Fire Department, the Village of Libertyville fireworks show will be able to proceed as planned on July 4, with certain precautions due to dry conditions."

Residents are being asked to refrain from using "fire sparklers or other items that can inadvertently start a brush/grass fire."

The village is also reminding residents of Libertyville's watering restrictions: "No lawn sprinkling between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., with watering limited to an every-other-day basis; even-numbered addresses on even calendar days and odd-numbered addresses on odd-numbered days."

The fireworks will start at about 9:30 p.m. in Butler Lake Park. The Libertyville Band will perform in the Butler Lake Bandshell at 7:30 p.m.
