John E. Verlenden, 55, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born June 12, 1957, in Waukegan, was a 1975 graduate of Libertyville High School and had lived in Lake Villa for the past 35 years. John was a retired 36-year employee of the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort. Surviving are his mother, Peggy Verlenden and sister, Susan Lynn Verlenden, both of Vernon Hills; his uncle, Donald C. Verlenden of Green Oaks; and aunt, Norma Jean (William) Dowden of Gurnee. He was preceded in death by his father. John B. Verlenden Jr. in 2006. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at noon on Monday, Sept. 24, at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville, with the Rev. Patricia W. Snickenberger officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Libertyville.
