These incidents were among the official reports of the Libertyville Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.
Esteban Macias, 33, of 600 McKinley Ave., Mundelein, was charged with driving while license revoked Oct. 13 on Butterfield Road near Fairlawn Avenue. He was also cited for improper lane usage. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a Nov. 21 court date. After he was released, fingerprint results revealed Macias' real name and that he was wanted on a Lake County warrant, police said. He was subsequently arrested on that warrant Oct. 15 when he returned to the police department to retrieve his vehicle. He was also cited for failing to register as a sex offender, failing to register a vehicle as driven by a sex offender, obstructing justice and using a fictitious name to register a vehicle. He was transported to the Lake County Jail to await a bond hearing and placed on a deportation hold by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
