The Village of Libertyville's Plan Commission heard a proposal from Chicago-based Bridge Development Partners, LLC to construct a warehousing distribution facility on 21 acres of land at 804 East Park Drive Monday, but decided to table a vote to approve after hearing residents' concerns, reported TribLocal.
"Not in my backyard," said residents living near proposed site, according to TribLocal. Residents are concerned the facility could affect their quality of life as a result of increased traffic, noise and lights.
The petitioner is seeking a special use permit for a warehouse and storage facility along Route 176 in the village's General Industrial District, in what is known as the Aldridge Business Center.
Construction would be completed in two phases and renamed Bridgepoint Libertyville, according to the Daily Herald.
Phase 1 would include construction of an 185,750-square-foot warehouse with 38 truck docks and 276 parking spots, while Phase 2 calls for a 220,500-square-foot warehouse with 46 docks and additional parking, reported TribLocal.
The proposal is expected to return to the Libertyville Plan Commission at its Feb. 25 meeting.
Bridge Development Partners, a commerical real estate firm, recently closed on a 103,000 square-foot industrial building at 600 Corporate Woods Dr., in Vernon Hills, in a venture with Dallas-based Hillwood Development Co.
