There's 'No Question' in Mathias' Leadership

Letter to the editor

Sid Mathias is an independent, thoughtful representative who deserves your vote for re-election.

He has the guts to disagree with his party on issues important to him and his constituents.

There is no question that he advocates for fiscal responsibility and has been fighting for a true balanced State of Illinois budget. He is for quality education in our schools, and is a sponsor of legislation to reduce our taxes. Mathias is opposed to increasing our property taxes by shifting the State's obligation to fund teacher pensions to local school districts.

There is no question that he has earned the respect and praise of  surrounding  Village Mayors such as  Braiman and Hartstein of Buffalo Grove, Byrne of Vernon Hills, Mulder of Arlington Hts., Blomberg of Lincolnshire , Kessler of Mundelein, Weppler of Libertyville, Wysocki of Green Oaks, Rodriguez of Long Grove, and Abruscato of Wheeling ... for his tireless dedication to area residents.

There is no question he has always been an advocate for the extension of Route 53 to promote economic growth and reduce traffic gridlock within our region. There is no question he continues to advocate for increasing METRA service to the entire district.

There is no question he is a person of integrity, intelligence and trustworthiness.

There is no question at all — that I am voting for Sid Mathias and encourage you to do the same.

What's funny to me is that I have never spoken to anyone about this letter, particularly David Stolman, nor have I authorized my name to be used in this or any article about Sid Mathias. David Stolman, you know better than to take liberties with other elected officials' names. Did you do that with all the other Mayors too? Use your own as you wish. I live in the Mundelein area and believe Mayor Kessler co-hosted a town hall with Sid Mathias recently. It would seem then, that Mayor Kessler at least respects and feels he can work well with Mathias which appears to be the point David is making. Thanks for your thoughts on this race David. Didn’t Kessler’s son get a job on Sente’s campaign? Maybe that has something to do with this...

Wow, clearly there is no reason to respect anything that Patch posts if we have Mayors writing in the comments section correcting blatant lies in their letters to the editor. I live in Mundelein and received Mayor Kessler's endorsement letter of Sente, so if I don't see any correction by Patch, I will no longer read any of their news and will spread the message to others to do the same
