Timeline Of Storms, Power Outages

Patch provides you with updates as the northwest suburbs deals with the aftermath of the severe storms July 11.

 

7:30 a.m. — 80 mph winds and severe storms begin blowing through McHenry County.

7:50 a.m. — Metra Lines Halted Due to Storms

8:20 a.m. — Storms begin moving east through Lake County toward Lake Michigan. The severe weather alert is set to be lifted at noon and flood warnings are in effect until 1 p.m.

8:45 a.m. — ComEd and area residents begin reporting power outages. Thousands are without power by 9 a.m.
