This popular family event takes place on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. with the start/finish on Newberry in downtown Libertyville.
Whether you are an elite, recreational, first-time racer or a family interested in exercise, all are welcome. Each year this race gains popularity — the last two years participants numbered over 1,000! This race has become one of the top evening 5K races in northern Illinois. The professionally chip-timed and challenging course winds through the picturesque east side of downtown Libertyville where the streets are lined with neighborhood spectators.
Registration is $40/$25. Participants must be 9 years old at the time of the race. The entry fee includes a t-shirt, goody bags and a post-race party at Mickey Finn’s, where runners and their families can enjoy dinner and rehydration. There are multiple age category awards for children and Fit and Fast Family. There is no walk-up registration the day of the event.
You can also register in person or by phone at the MainStreet office, 160 E. Cook, 847-680-0336.
