Mark Saturday, Dec. 1st and December 8th on your calendars. From 10 am – 3 pm each day the downtown will be bustling with holiday festivities. Be sure to stop by Cook Park during the hours of 10 am – noon or 1-3 pm where Santa in his sleigh and Mrs. Claus will welcome all children. It is the perfect setting for your holiday photo. Then visit the Children’s Holiday Shoppe located at Petraneks Pharmacy, 426 N. Milwaukee Avenue, across from Cook Park. The elves at the Children’s Holiday Shoppe look forward to helping your little ones find the perfect gift for everyone on their list. The gifts are budget friendly, as nothing is priced over $5.
The elegant Annual Victorian Tea is held at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church, beautifully appointed for the holidays, from 11 am – 1 pm on Saturday, Dec. 1 and Dec. 8. A Libertyville tradition, it is an authentic English tea with delicious pastries, tea sandwiches and scones with Devonshire cream served by hostesses in period dress. The cost is $30 per person before November 16; $35 thereafter. Always a sellout, reservations are required. More About Cook Memorial Park
The historic Cook Memorial Park boast a flower garden featuring roses that have made the All-American Rose Selection with names such as Tahitian Sunset, Pink Promise and Elle. This 1.7-acre park is also home to the local Christmas tree, which is decorated with lights every year. Located in downtown Libertyville, students, workers and residents are often seen taking their lunch break in this green park.
