The walk location is Independence Grove, 16400 W Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048. Parking available at the Grove. Several free buses will be running continuously between parking at Abbott and the Grove. More free buses will run between the Libertyville Metra Stop and the Event.

Independence Grove is an outdoor recreation area situated on a 115-acre lake. The park features prairie and woodland habitats where people can bike, hike and picnic; bikes are available to rent. Canoes, kayaks, paddle boats and fishing boats can also be rented to use on the lake and on the swimming beach, which has bathrooms, showers and locker rooms. A number of trails, a children's playground, an outdoor pavilion and amphitheater, a visitor's center (which can be rented for special events) and a summer café are all part of the property. Parking is free for Lake County residents.
