Alpha Nu, First Presbyterian Team Up to Provide Backpacks, Supplies for Kids

Members of the Alpha Nu chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma helped put smiles on the faces of many area K-12 children as they are preparing for the new school year.

In its second year of assisting with this project, Alpha Nu again teamed with the First Presbyterian Church of Libertyville to provide backpacks filled with school supplies to families in need. Alpha Nu contributed $1,000 to the church project in order to provide even more backpacks than last year.

This money was added to what was already raised by the church.

Members Jan Shawgo of Libertyville and Rosemary Troxel of Lake Forest authored the Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation for Educational Studies grant that provided the funding for this project, named “Backpacks to the Future.”
