Lake Shore Lynx Crush Fox Valley Premier

The Lake Shore Lynx defense and offense over come challenges to beat the Premier 55-12.

The Lake Shore Lynx have swept both of their division two game matchups.  On Friday the Lynx pummeled the Fox Valley Premier by the score of 55-12.

Due to injury and a family commitment, Chris Messina, the Lynx starting wide receiver, became the team’s temporary starting quarterback.  He did not disappoint.  Messina accounted for three touchdowns; two rushing and one passing.

“Messina really made a big difference for us today,” says team president Mike Sloan.  “Running, throwing and simply making smart football plays, Messina looked like a veteran quarterback.”

To make the Lynx lives even easier, the defense accounted for three interceptions returned for touchdowns on the evening.  On the first defensive play of the game Lynx cornerback Albert Greene jumped a pass and returned it to the end zone.  Also scoring for the Lynx defense was cornerback Vaughn Golston and linebacker Roman Hunter.

Lynx defensive end Chris Inniss said, “It is a good day of Lynx football when the defense scores enough to defeat the opponent, but then again, that’s what we expect from ourselves.”

This week the Lynx will cross the cheddar curtain and face the only other undefeated team in the Gridiron Football League, the Kenosha Cougars.  The Cougars are also the only team, other than the Lynx, to have ever won a GFL championship.
