Lynx Decimate Wilmot, Move on to Conference Championship Game

The Lake Shore Lynx beat the Wilmot Phoenix 63-3, in the first week of the playoffs to move forward to the GFL's National Conference Championship game this Friday in Libertyville.

For the third time this season, the Lake Shore Lynx and Wilmot Phoenix faced off in the Gridiron Football League.  This time it was the first round of the playoffs.

Once again the Lynx took care of business against a motivated Phoenix team.  With the defense scoring three touchdowns, the Lynx decimated the Phoenix with a 63-3 victory.

“As a second year team, the Phoenix deserve a lot of credit for making the playoffs and never giving up,” says Lynx half back, Dante Daniels. “We didn’t play a perfect game, but we are happy to move forward towards our championship goal.”

On Friday, August 12, the Lynx will host the Chicago Chaos in the National Conference Championship game at Butler Lake Park in Libertyville.

“The Chaos are a very good squad,” says Lynx president and offensive tackle Mike Sloan.  “This one won’t be a cake walk.  We need to take care of business from start to finish this time.  We are just a step away from returning to the championship game and that is exciting.”
