Adler Center Presents Summer Art Offerings!

Detailed descriptions of the Adler Center's Summer Art Classes.

The David Adler Music and Arts Center in Libertyville is currently accepting enrollments for their summer art classes.

COLORED PENCIL DRAWING WORKSHOP “DRAWING IN COLOR”:  Teen - Adults.  Develop and understand colored pencil as an art medium.  Drawing comprehension and skills to develop your own means of personal expression.  Instructor – Priscilla Humay.  Tuesdays: June 12, 19 and 26 6:30 – 9:00pm.

ART EXPLORATION: 6 - 12 years. New and continuing young artists are able to explore a variety of mediums to create works of art that are expressive and imaginative!  Session I:  Mondays 5:00 – 6:30pm. June 4 – July 16.  (No class July 2) Session II: Tuesday 4:30 – 6:00 pm.  July 24 – August 28.

DRAWING: 7 and up.   Students will develop drawing skills while learning about drawing from observation and their imaginations.  Students create works of art using a variety of drawing techniques and mediums.  Tuesdays 5:00 – 6:30pm.  June 5 – July 17 (No class July 3)

PAINTING: 7 and up. A watercolor, acrylic and tempera painting class that provides detailed instruction on the varying techniques and skills required to paint with all mediums.  Tuesdays 5:15-7:45pm. July 24 – August 28.

TODDLING TOGETHER WITH HANDS ON ART:  18 months – 3 years. Child and parent/caregiver will experience hands-on and process-orientated (where the focus is on doing, rather than the finished product) art.  Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:30 – 10:15 am.  August 7 – 23.

AHOY, MATES: Ages 3 - 5.  Children will be introduced to the elements of art incorporating a unique exploration of lost treasure, pirate ships, treasure chests, pirate flags and so much more.  Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:45 – 11:30am.  August 7 – 23.
