Advocate Condell Cancer Institute Receives Accreditations

Advocate Condell Medical Center is proud to announce that its Cancer Institute has earned a full, three-year accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers and was also granted a three-year accreditation by the Commission on Cancer, both administered by the American College of Surgeons.

Accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.

  • Comprehensive care, including a full range of state-of-the-art services
  • A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
  • Information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options
  • And, most importantly, quality breast care close to home.

In addition to the NAPC accreditation, Advocate Condell was granted accreditation by the Commission on Cancer (CoC). To earn a CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet or exceed 34 quality care standards, be evaluated every three years, and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care.

“These accreditations demonstrate our commitment to our patients and the fight against cancer,” said Virginia Friesen, RN, director of the Cancer Institute at Advocate Condell. “When patients come to our Cancer Institute, they can be assured they are receiving every significant advantage in their battle against the disease.”
