Advocate Condell designated ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

Advocate Condell’s Breast Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This designation furthers Advocate Condell’s commitment to fighting breast disease, and recognizes the staff’s advanced training in the area of breast imaging.

“I am proud of our dedicated physicians and associates whose specialized skills helped us to achieve Breast Center of Excellence designation,” said Dr. Ann Errichetti, President of Advocate Condell Medical Center. “This speaks to our commitment to provide exceptional care to the women in our community.”

By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in all of the College’s voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.

The breast imaging services at Advocate Condell are fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. Peer-review evaluations, conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that Condell has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.

“We invested a lot of time, talent and energy into attaining Center of Excellence designation, so we’re pleased with the outcome,” said Dr. Louis Manquen, Medical Chair of Advocate Condell’s Breast Center.
