At their annual Volunteer Awards & Recognition Celebration last Friday, Advocate Condell officials celebrated their team of 292 volunteers who dedicated a total of 48,117 hours in 2011.

“We appreciate our Volunteers’ partnership with the hospital,” said Dr. Ann Errichetti, President of Advocate Condell Medical Center. “They contribute to Condell and give back to our patients and the community in so many ways. We’re truly thankful for their efforts.”

The celebration also honored Libertyville resident Janice Savidis as the Outstanding Volunteer for 2011. Since starting as a volunteer in 1967, Ms. Savidis has given over 12,964 hours of service. Ms. Savidis started in the Emergency Department, and now helps to register family members who are waiting for loved ones in Surgery.

“Jan’s 45-year commitment to Advocate Condell, our patients, families and visitors, is an example to all of us,” said Janet Miesbauer, Manager of Volunteers, Auxiliary and Retail Services at Advocate Condell.

Advocate Condell Volunteers serve in a variety of capacities throughout the hospital, including Guest Services, Surgical Services, Central Supply, Gift Shop and Baby Cap knitters. If you’re interested in volunteering opportunities at Advocate Condell, contact Janet Miesbauer at 847-990-5268.
