Culver's of Libertyville Donates $1,000 to Feed My Starving Children

After its successful campaign to raise funds for neighboring Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), Culver’s of Libertyville, 803 E. Park Ave., was able to donate $1,000 to the organization. The contribution is due to a combination of counter donations and the Culver's ‘Day of Giving,’ held on Saturday, Nov. 23, in which the restaurant pledged to give 10 percent of the day's total sales. 

FMSC, a volunteer-based program, welcomes children and adults several times a week to hand-pack meals formulated specifically for malnourished children around the world. 

The organization's Libertyville location recently celebrated its one-year anniversary and since its opening has received help from 50,000 volunteers to package and send more than 10 million meals to help feed the world’s hungry.

To help FMSC maintain its goal of distributing one million meals per month, Culver’s raised awareness for the organization during the entire month of November. Its 10 percent give-back, counter donation boxes and information on volunteer opportunities helped to make FMSC information more available to the community. The $1,000 from Culver's will pay for 4,252 meals, which is enough to feed 11 children for an entire year. 

Culver's of Libertyville owner Chris Searles is proud of his guests for coming out to support Feed My Starving Children and looks forward to working with the organization in the future.
