Premier of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

The premier of Ballet Theatre of Illinois’ original production of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, will be presented at the Libertyville High School auditorium March 8th at 4:00 PM and March 9th at 2:00 PM.

 

The Ballet is a creation of Artistic Director  Isabele Melo Elefson, who also serves as a faculty member at the Cincinnati Ballet and the University of Cincinnati.  Rehearsals began in December and are currently running under the direction of Amy Rose, former soloist with the American Ballet Theatre.

Ballet Theatre of Illinois is a non-profit 501 (c) 3, pre-professional dance company.

The company was created to share with the community the art of dance through the talent of their company members. BTI’s focus is on enhancing the training of more serious dancers, providing them with opportunities to perform high quality productions.

 

The Ballet is an adaption of Lewis Carroll's Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and features 49 dancers from five separate community dance studios. The principals are Alice - Andrea Gattone, Libertyville; White Rabbit - Kendra Kenyon, Long Grove; Alice's Sister/Mad Hatter - Allison Gonzalez, Mundelein; Cheshire Cat - Kayla Zelenz, Wadsworth; and Queen of Hearts - Megan Starovich, Libertyville.
