Classic Cars Bring Nostalgia to Downtown Libertyville

This year's first Car Fun on 21 was held Wednesday.

It didn't take long for Beverly Kedzior to spot her dream car on Church Street during Wednesday evening's Car Fun on 21.

"This is pretty cool," Kedzior, of Lincolnshire, said of the 1946 Ford "Woodie" station wagon. She said looking at the car "brings back ideas of grander resort life" and spending time outdoors. Such cars remind her of fishing and swimming in the lake.

Kedzior's husband, Larry, commented on the "nice little touch" featured in the car: the suitcases in the back seat, as if a road trip were in order.

The Kedziors attended ’s first Car Fun on 21 cruise night of this year. Classic cars filled the street, from muscle cars like a 1967 Ford Mustang to large sedans like a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air.

Pat Corr of Lake Bluff brought his 1977 Rolls Royce, which he bought last year.

"It was my dad's dream car," said Corr. "I'm a Jeep guy."

The Rolls Royce may not be his dad's dream color — fire-engine red — but Corr loves it. Corr said he rents out his Rolls Royce for weddings and other events through a website he set up, www.roller2go.net.

"This is the third most recognizable car in Lake Bluff," said Corr.
