“Charlotte’s Web” is based on the classic book by E.B. White, which was adapted by Joseph Robinette. The director is Susan A. Robinson, adjunct theatre faculty member. The play will be performed Oct. 3 and 4 at 9:30 a.m., Oct. 5 at 3 p.m., Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre. White’s timeless tale is the story of an unusual friendship that develops between Wilbur, a runty pig, and Charlotte, a heroic spider. When Wilbur starts to worry that he may be turned into “smoked bacon and ham,” Charlotte spins a special web to try and convince the farmers how terrific Wilbur really is. This wonderful stage adaptation brings to life all of readers’ favorite characters from the book, and this touching story about the power of friendship will delight audiences of all ages. Single tickets $7; single school groups $5 (advance purchase for groups of ten or more). The show is suitable for grades K through 5 and above.

“Bus Stop” by William Inge, directed by Thomas B. Mitchell. Performance dates are Nov. 8, 9, 14, 15, 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. in the Studio Theatre. This Tony Award-winning dramatic comedy tells the story of what happens when a bus full of strangers is stranded outside of Kansas City and must spend the night in a roadside diner. At the center of it all is Bo, a headstrong, lovesick cowboy, and Cherie, the nightclub singer he is determined to marry. Through laughter, friendship and heartache, these weary travelers get to know each other and themselves a little better in this touching American classic. Tickets: Regular $10; CLC/Senior/Teen/JLC Subscribers $8. Special price tickets: Buy one, get one free on Nov. 8 and 14 (special offer not available online). Auditions, which are open to the community, will be held Sept. 16 and 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre.

“Twelfth Night, Or What You Will” By William Shakespeare and directed by Craig Rich, will be performed Feb. 28 and March 1 and 6-8 at 7:30 p.m., March 2 at 2 p.m. and March 7 at 10 a.m. (for high school groups) in the Studio Theatre. In this madcap tale of mistaken identity, Viola and her twin brother are shipwrecked on Illyria—an enchanted place where everything is turned upside down and nothing is what it seems. Viola disguises herself as a man and falls hopelessly in love with Orsino, who thinks he loves Olivia. Olivia thinks she loves Cesario, who is really Viola, dressed as a man. Add to the mix a brooding steward in yellow stockings named Malvolio and the saucy Sir Toby Belch, and the stage is set for this achingly funny and profoundly beautiful Shakespearean masterpiece. Tickets: Regular $10; CLC/Senior/Teen/JLC Subscribers $8. Special price tickets: Buy one, get one free on Feb. 28 and March 6 (offer not available online). Ideas for the showcase will be solicited in the fall semester and students will produce the work in the spring. It might be a full-length play, an evening of one-acts or even an original script. The students will decide, and the selection will be announced in early 2014. Tickets: Regular $10; CLC/Senior/Teen/JLC Subscribers $8.
