Condell Hosts Free Women's Health Workshops

The workshops cover a variety of topics including varicose veins, influenza, breast cancer, cardiac care, nutrition and emotional health.

Starting this month is launching a series of free education programs designed to make sure women are informed about a wide range of leading health issues.

The programs cover men’s health, varicose veins, influenza, breast cancer, cardiac care, nutrition and emotional health. They offer a chance to get updated information and interact with some of Advocate Condell’s leading physicians. 

The series kicked off on Aug. 24, with “What Women Should Know About Men’s Health,” and featured presentations by Advocate Condell physicians Jennifer DeBruler, MD, and Adam Rubinstein, MD, board certified in internal medicine.

The program runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at , 700 Garfield Ave. The registration code for this program is 5W24. The programs are free, but registration is required by calling Health Advisor at 800-323-8622.

  • "What Women Should Know About Varicose Veins," a lecture and screening, from 6:30 p.m. - 9 pm on Sept. 21, in the hospital's West Tower, 801 S. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville. Advocate Condell physician Shayle Patzik, a board-certified interventional radiologist, will speak about the hospital's state-of-the-art treatment of varicose veins, which are not only painful and unsightly but also can be indicative of other medical problems. The first 24 attendees will receive a free, non-diagnostic screening following the presentation. The registration code for this program is 5W25.
  • “What Women Should Know About Flu Season,” a lecture and flu shot clinic, from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Oct. 10, at the Gurnee Centre Club, 1405 Hunt Club Road in Gurnee. Mobola Campbell-Yesufu, MD, board certified in infectious disease, will talk about how to stay healthy during flu season. Flu shots are available after the lecture for $10 and a non-perishable food item, to be donated to a local food pantry. The registration code for this program is 5W26.
  • “What Women Should Know About Staying Healthy,” a panel discussion on leading women’s health topics, from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Oct. 24, at Advocate Condell’s Conference Center, 700 Garfield Ave., Libertyville. Condell physician Eileen Morrison, MD, board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, will discuss breast health; Geetha Reddy, MD, board certified in cardiology, will discuss heart health; nutritionist Joshh Rager will discuss diet; and special guest Francine Friedman, national speaker and best-selling author of MatchDotBomb,will talk about the importance of emotional health for maintaining well-being. Enjoy refreshments and time to relax during this informative – and interactive – program. The registration code for this program is 5W27.
