Nature Up Close: Macro Photography

Join the Lake-to-Prairie Chapter of Wild Ones and Joan Sayre, noted photographer, for an evening full of images that will amaze your senses.

Joan is known for her "close up and personal" style of photography which makes heavy use of a macro lens. She'll show images of the colorful flora and tiny fauna we find in Lake County, and even in your own back yard, including:

  • Frost & Ice
  • Butterflies & Moths
  • Flowers & Mushrooms
  • Dragonflies & Damselflies
  • Insects
  • Spiders
  • Reptiles
  • Other Backyard Visitors

Many of us only have a simple Point-and-Shoot camera. So, Joan will share with us simple, easy to follow techniques that will enable any of us to begin photographing nature. She'll be glad to answer questions about the basics of composition and light, and point out some of the must-know settings that can be found on virtually any camera.
