What Happened After Easter with Rev. Dr. Frank Yamada

What Happened After Easter with Rev. Dr. Frank Yamada

LIBERTYVILLE, IL. – Join us Wednesday, April 18th from 7:00 – 8:45 pm in Fellowship Hall at the First Presbyterian Church of Libertyville for a mid week class, What Happened After Easter? with Reverend Dr. Frank M. Yamada, President and Cyrus McCormick Professor of Bible and Culture at McCormick Theological Seminary, one of the nation's most respected urban seminaries centrally located in Chicago’s Hyde Park community.  It encourages, embraces, celebrates and prepares women and men from all denominations and backgrounds for Christian ministry and service, advancing a model of education that is cross-cultural, urban, Reformed and ecumenical.                  Dr. Yamada is a favorite speaker here at FPC Libertyville.

All four gospels contain post-resurrection accounts of encounters with the living Christ. In fact, the entire book of Acts conveys how the work of Jesus is carried on within the life of the Early Church. We will focus on the radical makeup of the earlier Christians, focusing specifically on the well-know coming of the Spirit at Pentecost in Acts 2. What are the implications of these early post-resurrection realities for 21st Century Christians? What can we learn about God and the composition of our world from these events? All are welcome!
