Farmers Market, 'Out to Lunch' Return This Week

From fresh fruit and vegetables to baked goods and crepes, the 33rd annual Libertyville Farmers Market will have lots to offer shoppers when the market opens Thursday.

Al Scott, farmers market coordinator, said shoppers can expect about 30 vendors at this year's market, which will be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Thursday from June 20 through Oct. 17. The market will be located on West Church Street between Milwaukee and Brainerd Avenues.

"It should be a very good year," said Scott. "We've got really good vendors."

The market will include a few new vendors this year, he said. All About Appetizers will offer items like dips, spreads and salsa. Shoppers can buy organic vegetables from the Prairie Crossing Learning Farm, another new vendor this year. A third new vendor, Sherwood North Nursery of Hebron, will sell items like perennials and other plants.

Check out the full line-up of vendors on the Libertyville Farmers Market website.

The market will also feature special entertainment, including music from Whitey O'Day, balloon sculpting/juggling/magic from R.C. Juggles and "Fresh Picked Stories" from the Cook Memorial Library. Check out the event schedule.

Out to Lunch

This week also marks the return of Out to Lunch, which will feature nine food vendors in Cook Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Friday from June 21 through Aug. 16. The entertainment for June 21 will be The New Libertyvillians. Check out the full entertainment schedule on the MainStreet Libertyville website.
