Why Go?: Piano instructor Helen Chang is one of the many talented performers that are featured in this benefit concert.

Pricing: $12 for Adler Center members; $15 for non-members

Why Go?: 2.5 mile adventure walk. Ask your friends and family to help support ShelterBox's mission of providing shelter and dignity to disaster survivors around the world.

Pricing: $25 for adults; $10 for youth 13 - 17; Free for kids 12 and under

Where / When: Viper Alley, 275 Parkway Dr., Lincolnshire; 8:30 - 10 p.m., Friday, June 10.

Why Go?:The top finalist from season 6 of American Idol, Gina Glocksen, will perform her rock/pop music live. Bar and kitchen open at 5 p.m. Must be 21 years old or older to attend.

Pricing: $8 - 25 per ticket

Where/When: Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Feet First Exhibition Hall, 3333 Green Bay Rd., North Chicago; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Friday, June 10.

Why Go?: View an exhibit of a visual interpretation of a Healthcare Superhero through the drawings, paintings and three-dimensional objects made by kids. The exhibit is a collaboration between the North Chicago Community Partners and the Boys & Girls Club of Lake County.

Pricing: Free

Where / When: Shelter B, West side of Green Bay Rd., South of Belvidere Rd., North Chicago; 2 - 5 p.m., Sunday, June 12.

Why Go?: Kids ages 4 - 12 will learn about nature on a scavenger hunt and at a fishing demo. Fire fighters, rangers and the North Chicago Jazz Steppers will visit. Face painting, games, prizes and refreshments. This is a Leave No Child Inside Event.
