Libertyville Masonic Lodge to Hold Blood Drive

The event will be held Jan. 5.

Ever wanted to take a tour of the Libertyville Masonic Lodge?

Well, you will get the chance to do just that on Saturday, when the lodge opens its doors for its first blood drive.

The Libertyville Masonic Lodge will host a blood drive with Lifesource from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 5 at the lodge, 356 Brainerd Ave. Member Jeff Gibson added that members will also take people around the building.

"We're trying to get a little more involved in the community, so we decided to hold one blood drive and see how it goes," said Gibson. The lodge will be celebrating its 150th anniversary in a couple of years, Gibson added, so now is the perfect time to get involved with the community.

"We're hoping there will be interest in the Masonic Lodge," said Gibson, whose great-grandfather was a Mason in the 1880s. Gibson's father was also a Mason.

The Libertyville lodge has about 106 members, he said.

For Saturday's blood drive, potential donors can either reserve a time slot with Lifesource at (877) 543-3768 or just show up at the lodge.

If you have any questions about the blood drive, contact Lifesource or call Gibson at (847) 828-4755.
