Sec. of State Jesse White to Conduct Organ Donation Event at CLC

Join Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White at noon Thursday, Oct. 18, at Grayslake's College of Lake County for a special organ donation event.

Jesse White, Illinois Secretary of State, will visit the College of Lake County in Grayslake at noon Thursday to raise awareness for the Illinois Organ/Tissue Donor Registry. 

The community is invited to attend a presentation from noon to 12:45 p.m. in room C005 (C Wing Auditorium). CLC President Jerry Weber will introduce White, who will speak about the state’s organ registry and the importance of organ donation.

Diane Rarick, CLC Public Relations and Marketing, will also be one of the speakers. "When my brother died in 1994, my family chose to donate his organs. When I told this to the organizer of the event, she asked me to share my story."

Donor registry staff members will provide information and sign up organ donors from noon to 2 p.m. in the Lower Level C Wing. White’s visit will also include a private lunch with CLC staff and students and a campus tour.
