What's Open, Closed on Columbus Day in Libertyville

Schools are closed, but the library is open; find out what else is happening Columbus Day in Libertyville.

While kids will have the day off, some municipal workers won't this Columbus Day, which is Monday, Oct. 14.

Closings in Libertyville include the Libertyville District 70 and Community High School District 128 schools. Don't expect mail delivery either, since the post office is closed.

Most banks are closed on Columbus Day, but some remain open, so check with yours if you plan to do some in-person banking.

What's open?

  • The Cook Memorial Library is open for business Monday and has some activities scheduled.
  • According to Groot, there will be regular garbage/recycling pickup.

Most retail stores, restaurants, gyms, and supermarkets are open, but may be observing special weekend or holiday hours. Call ahead if you want to be sure before you head out.
