has moved to a new location at 746 E. Park Ave. The new facility includes four studios, the biggest being the size of a large stage.
“We are excited to be able to comfortably accommodate our growing student population. It was nice to have our business on Milwaukee Avenue, but our expansion options were limited” said Dance Academy co-owner Emily Winkler.
Juliet Stephenson, also co-owner of Dance Academy and a fourth-generation Libertyville resident, says she is pleased to keep the business in her hometown.
“It was a challenge to find a space large enough to accommodate all our needs within the city limits. We now have the opportunity to continue to expand and grow further, while still bringing quality professional training to the Lake County area.”
The increase in space has allowed Dance Academy of Libertyville to continue to house Ballet Theatre of Illinois, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dance company, while developing a partnership with the Civic Ballet of Chicago.
This year Dance Academy students will perform with the Civic Ballet in their production of The Nutcracker at the College of Lake County. Both owners emphasized that they want to provide their students with as many opportunities as they can to broaden their training and performance skills. They hope the new facility will have space to make this happen.
