Here are this week's picks for some kid-friendly activities for you to try this weekend.

Why Go?: Free presentations on grooming, nutrition, behavior and wellness. Touch cats and ask the owners and exhibitors questions. See a household cat and pedigreed cat competition. Over 30 vendors will be selling items at special prices. Support the Lincoln State Cat Club's efforts to promote and preserve the pedigreed cat.

Pricing: $8 for adults; free for kids 6 and under

Where / When: ; Saturday, Feb. 26.

Why Go?: Enjoy listening to fine music performed by elementary students, junior and senior performers in the historic former home of architect David Adler during the 5th annual competition. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in the junior and senior divisions.
