$11 million to cannibalize a property so it no longer resembles its original self has little to do with preserving heritage. Not owning the property for that money is not building for the future. The old Aldens store could have been bought and fixed up for that money leaving operating funds for years. Then again Libertyville High School and Carmel High School both have beautiful stages and auditoriums that are not used and that are often available.
