The American Legion Post 329 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8741 will lead Libertyville's annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony on Monday, May 28.
The parade will start at the train station at 9:30 a.m. and travel to Cook Park, where the ceremony will be held at 9:45 a.m.
The ceremony will include a performance by the Libertyville High School Band and the playing of "Taps."
The group will then travel to Lakeside Ceremony, where David Niblack will offer a prayer and Jim Robbins will perform the "Reading of Names." Ruth Buehrer from the American Legion Auxiliary and Meg Zirkelbach from the VFW Ladies Auxiliary will place a wreath at the cemetery. There will also be a flag raising by the Boy Scouts and a firing ceremony.
In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held at the American Legion Hall, 715 N. Milwaukee Ave.
