Bonkers on Main Closed, New Businesses to Open

The downtown Libertyville sandwich shop closed over the weekend, according to village officials.

Bonkers on Main, a sandwich shop in downtown Libertyville, closed over the weekend, according to Community Development Director John Spoden.

. The shop, at 603 N. Milwaukee Ave., served soups and sandwiches.

There are several food businesses that will be opening along downtown Milwaukee Avenue, including Shakou Sushi, which specializes in modern Japanese cuisine.

“The Japanese word for Shakou translates as ‘social life.’ You don’t want to miss experiencing this new spin on a casual sushi bar, offering upbeat music, attitude and unmatched service,” according to the restaurant’s website.

  • Yo Froot Café, a frozen yogurt and smoothies store at 620 N. Milwaukee Ave.
  • C.U. Libertyville, a restaurant and bar at 547 N. Milwaukee Ave.
