Chocolate Bunnies, Other Easter Treats Available at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

Need a sweet treat?

When you're filling your child's Easter basket, which candies do you usually reach for?

Perhaps you toss in a handful of jelly beans, or maybe some Peeps.

In Pam Lockowitz's opinion, "there's something about solid chocolate bunnies."

Lockowitz, manager of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, said the shop's chocolate bunnies are a favorite every Easter. Rocky Mountain offers solid chocolate bunnies in all sizes, including a 23-pound behemoth that sells for $295.

"We had someone buy a 34-pound (chocolate) Santa," said Lockowitz.

Aside from the chocolate bunnies, Lockowitz said people stop in to pick up cream-filled eggs to give away as gifts. There will also be specialty caramel apples added to the shop's already-popular array.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is in its 11th year in Libertyville. The shop offers chocolates by the pound, fudge, ice cream and other tasty treats. They also do specialty work for events like anniversaries, birthdays and weddings.

"There's always an excuse to have something sweet," said Lockowitz.

The store, located at 541 Milwaukee Ave., is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
