Winchester House has New Administrator

Richard A. Curtis joins the ranks of Winchester House in Libertyville as its new administrator.

Richard A. Curtis, of Grayslake, has been appointed the new administrator of Winchester House, a 360-skilled bed nursing facility at 1125 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville.

Curtis has more than 20 years experience in strategic planning, business development and operational management of senior living facilities.

Prior to joining Winchester House, he was director of senior services at Hearthstone Communities and executive director at Good Samaritan Home. This year, he was appointed a member of the CCRC Cabinet of the Life Services Network of Illinois, a statewide association, which deals with of the complete continuum of services for older adults.

Connie O’Neal, RN, of Libertyville, has been named director of nursing. She has an extensive professional background in nurse management, as an assistant administrator and nurse care manager and has worked in the field for more than 30 years.

Winchester House, owned and operated by Lake County, has been providing long-term healthcare to the residents of the county for more than 150 years. The facility has 360 beds and provides 24-hour skilled nursing and intermediate care; rehabilitation, including physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as care for those with Alzheimer’s and related illnesses.
