Libertyville Tavern Makes List of Best Bars in Illinois That are NOT in Chicago

Do you think your town has the absolute best bar in Illinois? 

Thrillist.com put together a list of the top 12 best bars in the state that are not in Chicago — and there is one Libertyville watering hole that made it. 

Firkin', 515 N. Milwaukee Ave., is lauded by Thrillist for its extensive tap list with "up-and-comers like Destihl, Against The Grain, and Tighthead" and menu items like lobster tacos and duck nachos. 

"...Firkin has cemented its spot as the beer geek go-to on the North Shore, and a worthy destination from just about anywhere," according to Thrillist.com.

Other suburban bars to make Thrillist.com's list include: Durty Nellie's in Palatine, The Foundry in Aurora, Liquid Blues in Woodstock, Palmar Place in LaGrange, Meier's Tavern in Glenview and Rock Island Public House in Blue Island.
