Libertyville, Vernon Hills Dentists Participating in Candy Buyback

The candy will be sent to Operation Gratitude, which will make holiday packages for troops overseas.

So your kids went trick-or-treating yesterday and now they're happy with their piles of candy—but you don't want them to eat it all, right?

Some local dentists are participating in a candy buyback program that will benefit the troops overseas.

The Halloween Candy Buyback website lists four locations in Libertyville and Vernon Hills that are participating in the program. The candy will be sent to Operation Gratitude in Van Nuys, CA. The organization will make holiday packages for the troops and ship the packages overseas.

. His office is offering $1 per pound—up to 10 pounds—for unopened Halloween candy. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The candy will be collected from 2-5 p.m. Nov. 2 and from 8 a.m. until noon Nov. 3.
