Libertyville Weekend: Plant Sale, Shred Event and More!

What's going on in Libertyville this weekend?

Are you looking for something to do in Libertyville this weekend?

We've put together a list of some events taking place in and around town that you can check out.

Prepare for Spring

The Gardeners of Central Lake County are holding their annual plant sale from 8:30 to 11 a.m. May 11. The sale, which will feature perennials and herbs, will be held at the Crawford Warming House, 817 W. Lake St., Libertyville. Plant Sale Chairman Tony Kirch says customers should arrive early because in years past, most of the plants have been sold within the first 45 minutes. If you're on the fence about checking this one out, you should know that the majority of the plants sold at the sale are from club members' gardens!

Ride the Ferris Wheel

Westfield Hawthorn is hosting the Spring Fling Carnival this weekend. The carnival is in the southeast parking lot, near Sears. The hours for the carnival are 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Sounds fun to me!

Welcome to Town!

Libertyville's newest restaurant, Fine's, will hold its grand opening celebration this weekend, May 10-12. Check out their menu.

Shred Those Statements

If you're like me, you have old bills, canceled checks, bank statements and other sensitive materials around the house. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11, Koenig & Strey will host a free shred event at their Libertyville office, 100 N. Milwaukee Ave. You can also pick up a bouquet of flowers for mom, starting at $10, thanks to Buss Flower Shop. For more information, call (847) 362-6200.

Laughs in Libertyville

The Improv Playhouse will offer two shows May 11: the first, a family-friendly show, at 7:30 p.m., followed by another show for mature audiences at 9 p.m. The "Pop Culture Power Radio" show will feature Iron Man and Avengers references and more! Tickets are $10 for adults and $7.50 for students. Moms pay just $5! For more information, visit the Improv Playhouse website.
