Softball and soccer tournaments, cook-offs, picnics and award ceremonies are just some of the activities planned this week for thousands of Medline Industries, Inc. workers throughout the world as Medline puts the spotlight on its global employees during the company’s 15th annual Employee Appreciation Week, Sept. 17-21.
“This week is a tribute to all the people who make Medline the special company it is,” said Andy Mills, president of Medline.
Based in Mundelein, Medline is the largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of medical and surgical products in the United States. The company has more than 2,300 employees in Lake County and almost 9,000 worldwide.
In Lake County, home to the company’s headquarters, a distribution center and three manufacturing facilities, a multitude of activities are taking place throughout Employee Appreciation Week, including company divisions competing in team-building events such as soccer and softball tournaments, cooking competitions like “cupcake” wars and a chili cook-off, an all-employee barbecue, an awards ceremony where Medline’s senior executives recognize employees for their extraordinary performances and a private evening at Six Flags Great America.
