Residents "Wine about Winter"

Main Street' fifth annual Let's WIne About Winter attracts more than 1,000 participants.

The sun was shining, the snow was melting, and the wine was flowing. Record numbers of participants swarmed Libertyville's Main Street on Saturday to experience the fifth annual "Let's Wine About Winter" event.

MainStreet Libertyville, a volunteer based non-profit, organized the four-hour long event which attracted more than 1,000 participants.

More than 33 retail stores and restaurants participated in the event, offering tastings of wine, cheese, artists and musicians. A bus filled with Hoffman Estates residents as well as an adult singles group, came out to enjoy the festivites.

MainStreet Libertyville sold commemerative wine glassess for $10, and the merchants provided the wines free of charge. The proceeds will go towards funding future events hosted by the non-profit, such as Out to Lunch, Farmers Market, Dickens of A Holiday, and many more.
