Church Street will become the mecca for vintage car enthusiasts as hosts its ninth annual Car Fun on 21. On May 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., take a walk along Church Street between Milwaukee and Brainerd avenues to see some 100 cars that are more than a quarter of a century old, and chat with their owners.

A fifth place regional finish translated into a first place state finish for the Libertyville High School Science Olympiad team at the University of Illinois, Champaign on April 16.

When this weekend's state gymnastics meet concludes at Lincoln Way East, it will mark the end of three decades of coaching for Libertyville High School's Curt Austin. In 31 years, he's had a trio of thirds to hold on to. As in three third-place finishes for his girls teams and three for the boys team. It's now time to retire for the veteran coach.

The Merchant Growth Club emerged in February 2010, as a way for, a non-profit dedicated to developing Libertyville's downtown, to provide resources for its members. Now in its second year, participants are using it to educate themselves and help their businesses thrive.
