Tranel Financial Group to be Host Site for Global Leadership Summit

The summit, which will be held at Willow Creek Association, will feature Gen. Colin Powell.

The Tranel Financial Group in Libertyville will be a host site this year for the Willow Creek Association’s Global Leadership Summit on Aug. 8-9.

The two-day summit will be held at the Willow Creek Association main campus in South Barrington and will be telecast live to more than 230 premier host sites worldwide, including The Tranel Financial Group in Libertyville. Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell will be one of 13 internationally recognized speakers featured at the event.

The Tranel Financial Group’s President Roch Tranel said the company decided to be a host site for the first time this year because the event at Willow Creek’s main campus is sold out and many local business and community leaders were interested in hearing the message. A limited number of tickets are still available for the event at the Tranel host site in Libertyville.

“We have a passion for developing leaders here and it just made sense to have 100 people in our building for two days that have the same passion for honing their leadership skills,” he said. “We reached out to Willow Creek Association to become a host site.”

Powell, a retired four-star General and former U.S. Secretary of State under President George W. Bush, will bring star power to the event but Tranel emphasized there are many other excellent speakers at the two-day summit.

“I feel all the speakers are going to do a fantastic job,” he said. “I think one of the great things about Gen. Colin Powell is he’ll bring attention to the conference. He will be a tremendous draw. But I think they will all have a fantastic message.”

Also speaking at the summit is Mark Burnett, a four-time Emmy award winner and executive television producer. Burnett is the producer of such popular television series as “Survivor,” “Celebrity Apprentice,” “The Voice,” and “The Bible.” Burnett was named one of the World’s Most Influential People by Time Magazine.

Other speakers at the conference are Dr. Brene Brown, a New York Times best-selling author and research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work; Vijay Govindarajan, a Top 50 management thinker and professor at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business; Patrick Lencioni, founder and president of The Table Group and a best-selling author; Liz Wiseman, a Wall Street Journal best-selling author and executive strategy and leadership consultant; Oscar Muriu, senior pastor at the Nairobi Chapel in Kenya; Dr. Henry Cloud, a clinical psychologist, leadership consultant and best-selling author; Chris Brown, co-senior pastor at North Coast Church; Joseph Grenny, co-founder of VitalSmarts and a best-selling author; Bob Goff, founder and CEO of Restore International; and Andy Stanley, founder and senior pastor of North Point Ministries. Willow Creek founder and senior pastor Bill Hybels will also speak at the summit.

Tranel thinks attendees will gain unique insights from experts with a wide range of leadership backgrounds and experiences that they can use in their businesses, churches and daily lives.

The summit will be televised on a large screen set up in The Tranel Financial Group’s education room, which has space for more than 100 people. Tranel said more than 90 people have already signed up for the event in Libertyville but a small number of tickets remain.

The cost of the two-day summit is $249 per individual. Individuals can register on-line at willowcreek.com/summit by clicking on the registration link for the Libertyville site under the list of premier host sites.
