Member-owned credit union offers new comprehensive check deposit product

Libertyville, IL, November 5, 2013:  In today’s digital world, the “old ways” of doing things just aren’t the most efficient anymore. Tablets, cell phones, laptops – these are the tools we use in our daily lives. Consumers Credit Union (CCU; $604 Million, Waukegan IL), is committed to leveraging new technology to improve the experience of its Members.  With that in mind, CCU proudly introduces eXpressShot, the credit union’s new remote and mobile deposit capture service.

eXpressShot offers Members the ability to deposit checks with the click of a button – from anywhere, at any time. With its “click and shoot” technology, Members can take a photo of their checks using a smartphone, tablet or other web-enabled device, then send the check information straight to CCU. This unique service gives Members the opportunity to save money on gas while avoiding wait-times in the branch by eliminating the need to visit a physical location, transforming depositing checks into a simple, easy process.

“Technology is constantly changing, offering more conveniences with each passing day,” said CCU President Sean M. Rathjen. “Leveraging these changes allows the credit union to offer Members the best possible Member service. eXpressShot combines convenience and savings while also allowing Members the ability to save time, perhaps the most precious commodity of all in today’s busy world.  We’re confident that eXpressShot will soon become one of the most popular new services we have to offer.”

Those using CCU’s new Mobile Deposit Capture service can take comfort in the fact that all check information sent to CCU is done so through the credit union’s secure Online Banking system. Members using the service receive confirmation emails so they know when the deposit was received, when the deposit goes into their account and a final message notifying them when funds are available.  eXpressShot is a free service, with easy-to-understand enrollment instructions located at www.myconsumers.org, the credit union’s website.
