Consumers Credit Union Recognizes Employees of the Year

Seven (7) employees earn top honors at Member-owned credit union

Libertyville, IL, February 4, 2014:  Consumers Credit Union (CCU) recently held its eighth Annual All-Employee Meeting at Keylime Cove Resort in Gurnee IL.  A highlight of the event was the announcement of the Member-owned credit union’s 2013 Employees of the Year.

“Consumers Credit Union had an awesome year in 2013, thanks to the outstanding performance of our awesome staff,” said Sean M. Rathjen, CCU President.  “We take great pride in the service we deliver and how we’re perceived by Members.  We’re fortunate to have employees who go above and beyond their normal responsibilities to consistently exceed Member expectations in both areas.  My congratulations are extended to the winners, along with my personal appreciation to everyone at Team CCU for making 2013 one of our best years yet.”

CCU has seven (7) categories for Employees of the Year.  Criteria for selection include delivering superior service by living CCU’s “Brand Promise,” dedication to Members and the credit union, setting a positive example for peers and consistently meeting goals.  This year’s winners are listed below.

·            Counter Service Representative: Patricia Ramirez, North Waukegan office.  Counter Service Representatives serve as Tellers in both the lobby and drive-up, handling thousands of transactions for Members on a daily basis.

·            Contact Center Representative (Kathy Petropoulos Memorial Award): Jessica Burdick, Round Lake Beach office.  Contact Center Representatives handle phone inquiries for Members, regardless of which location they typically use, including loans, deposits, general inquiries and issues with accounts.  The award is named in honor of the late Kathy Petropoulos, long-time Receptionist at Consumers Credit Union.

·            Member Service Representative: Juana Zarenana, Gurnee office.  CCU Member Service Representatives open new accounts for Members, enroll them in new services and provide answers to a wide variety of questions and inquiries from Members.

·            Lending Department – Sales:  Valerie Stephens, Round Lake Beach office.  Lending Department – Sales includes front-line employees in the credit union’s Mortgage, Consumer Loans and VISA Credit Card Departments.

·            Lending Department – Support:  Debbie Bukantis, Waukegan office.  Lending Department – Support includes all employees in the Loan Departments who support our front-line staff.

·            Office:  David Zamudio, Technology Department, Waukegan office.  CCU’s Office staff includes all other support departments, such as Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, Technology, Adjustments, Greeters, Electronic Services and Share Drafts. 

·            Manager of the Year:  Bonny Thomas, VISA Department, Mundelein office.  All Managers from CCU’s six branches and the Contact Center are eligible for this award.

Each of the seven winners received a plaque at the awards ceremony to commemorate their selection, along with a $500.00 gift card.  A picture of CCU’s 2013 Employees of the Year is attached.
